Lot Description

A Bronze Covered Incense Burner LATE QING DYNASTY the body of square sectioned with sloping sides, raised on a tall straight square foot, the exterior cast to depict mythical beasts and sinuous dragons pursing pearls of wisdom amongst rushing waves, set with a pair of lion masks and loose ring handles, the underside impressed with a three-character maker's mark reading qin shu lu, further supported on a tiered pedestal with an incised keyfret band above a row of lotus petals and ruyi feet, the reticulated cover decorated with phoenix birds and dragons amidst clouds, surmounted by a finial in the form of a crouching dragon. Height overall 10 3/4 inches.
