FIRST EDITION, in which the author, a "plain working man" argues that while selecting a candidate for President is "at all times a matter of great importanceno previous choice has ever involved questions of such grave moment as that which was made on the eighth of June in the city of Baltimore" when Lincoln was nominated at the Republican National Convention for reelection.
