Davies, 1806.4to (267 x 206 mm). 2 Plates, one as the frontispiece, 3 folding maps. (Slight tears to maps, spotting, tape repairs and residue.) Contemporary half calf, marbled boards, spine in 6 compartments, gilt-lettered in second (upper cover and front-facing endpaper detached, spine worn, discreet library label on spine). Second edition, enlarged. "This important work contains the earliest information in English about Darfur (Sudan)... Browne was the first European to describe Darfur, which he reached with a Sudanese caravan in 1793..." (Blackmer 219).
