Publisher's orange pictorial cloth, gilt-lettered (hinging, lightly rubbed, chipping to head of spine). Second edition. Stein is regarded as one of the most important explorers, archaeologists and geographers of Central Asia. This 1904 work is a personal narrative of Stein's journey in Chinese Turkestan.
