A Famille Rose Porcelain Jar and Cover LIKELY REPUBLIC PERIOD OR EARLIER the baluster body raised on a short splayed foot, surmounted by a short straight neck, the body painted to depict two birds resting in grass besides rockery amongst flowering chrysanthemum and bamboo branches, the neck decorated with a band of lappet leaves and lotus scrolls against a ruby red ground, the cover having similarly decorated rim and surmounted by a finial in the form of double peaches, the underside bearing a six-character Jiaqing iron red mark.
