Lot Description

(RECEIPTS) (WASHINGTON, GEORGE) In unknown hand. A manuscript receipt, dated October 11, 1794, regarding a keg of vinegar for "General Washington." (20 by 8 cm.), with torn corner containing the top half of the word "Washington;" lightly chipped at left margin, not effecting text. Through President at the time, Washington was often referred to as General.
