Lot Description

A Dutch Marquetry Burl Walnut Tall Case Clock J.P. KROESE, AMSTERDAM, MID-18TH CENTURY the hood surmounted by giltwood figures of Atlas and heralding angels, with a fretwork frieze and colonettes flanking the door, the silvered chapter ring signed J.P. Kroese, Amsterdam, with a secondary dial for seconds and apertures for date and day of the week, all beneath a painted moon phase dial, the trunk door inlaid to show a bird above a gilt metal lenticle depicting a basket of flowers, the whole raised on claw and ball feet. Height overall 116 1/2 inches.
