A Victorian Silver Topped Gold and Diamond Convertible Tiara/Necklace, consisting of a openwork link section which serves as both the tiara and necklace centerpiece, the section composed of graduated peaks punctuated with scrollwork and collet settings, extending to a back chain of later addition, the components containing numerous old mine cut diamonds weighing approximately 16.50 carats total, together with the yellow gold tiara frame.Accompanied by a leather bound case signed Edward Tessier.Jeweler Profile:The Tessier family, a multi-generational member of London's jewellery elite, were well known for their exquisite work during the 19th and early 20th century. They excelled at the complex design and crafting of convertible jewelry such as the present lot, providing options for every important occasion. Perhaps most notably, they were commissioned to produce a magnificent graduated diamond necklace for Queen Mary.
