A 16 Karat Yellow Gold Hunter Case Key Wound Verge Movement Pocket Watch, Joseph Johnson, Liverpool, Circa 1855,
53.00 mm case diameter, white porcelain dial signed JOSEPH JOHNSON 25 CHURCH STREET LIVERPOOL, painted Roman numerals with outer chapter ring, gilt fleur-de-lys hands, subdial at 6 o'clock for seconds, guilloche finish dial cover with central blank cartouche and guilloche case back, engraved cuvette, gilt plate engraved fusee movement with lever escapement, together with a gold filled fob chain.Case back stamp: S.Hoyt & Co 266 PEARL ST (assay mark) 22739.Cuvette engraved: Presented to Romeo Friganza as a Testimonial of Esteem by the Joiners employed in the Navy Yard New York Nov. 29th 1855.
