A Tibetan Lacquer Lama's Hat
18TH/19TH CENTURY
the exterior decorated with a ruyi head band set on lotus scroll background with characters and alternating roundels each enclosing a forward-facing writhing dragon, interspersed with further lotus scroll, the interior painted with Buddhist emblems, having a silver hat finial chased with floral motif and Chinese characters, rising to an agate bead and surmounted by a fu lion-form finial.
Diameter 15 1/8 inches.
