A Korean Mother-of-Pearl Inlaid, Black Lacquered and Tempera Painted Two-Part Cabinet
18TH/19TH CENTURY
in three sections, the top case having a rectangular opening above two hinged doors decorated with mother-of-pearl depicting immortals beneath pine trees on riverbanks, the lower case having two hinged doors decorated similarly above four drawers with birds perched on flowering branches, all raised on a rectangular plinth with shaped apron, supported by four bracket feet, each side decorated with a central shou medallion circled by four flying bats, the interior painted with sinuous dragons.
Height 54 x width 31 x depth 16 inches.
