Lot Description
A Chinese Celadon Jade Libation Cup
17TH/18TH CENTURY
the even celadon stone of oval section, having deep wells each carved with geometric design and two chilong above two lappet leaves with stylized beast mask flanking a raised rectangular flange, the cup having two relief carved sinuous kuilong to one side and another kuilong and a stylized dragon forming the handle to the opposite, the oval flat base incised with two sentences wen yi beidou cheng tianxiang, jiu di nanshan zuo shou bei from the poem fenghe chun chu feng taiping gongzhu nan zhuang ying zhi written by Tang Dynasty poet, Song Zhiwen (656-712).
