A Chinese Cinnabar Lacquer Rectangular Covered Box LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY of rectangular form with rounded corners and gilt copper edges. The cover carved with stylized lotus flowers, scrolling vines and foliage against an incised diaper ground. The sides of cover and box are carved with archaic style key fret borders and leaves. Interiors and base covered in black lacquer. Width 12 1/8 inches.
