Lot Description

A Set of Six Chinese Ink and Color on Silk Panels MING DYNASTY the Buddhist Lantern Festival, or Yuan Xiao Festival, the panels painted in continuation to show hundreds of figures, including immortals, deities, civil and court officials, villagers, soldiers and children, acrobats and musicians engaged in celebration, the pine trees adorned with over 150 colorful lanterns and the Buddha seated on a lotus plinth at the top of the central pine tree, a Buddhist temple engulfed in fog and dragon boats appear in the top corners. 81 1/4 x 22 3/4 inches.
