A Large Chinese Mandarin Famille Rose Vase
LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY
of baluster form with dished everted rim, each side having a square panel to the body and the neck, the panels painted to show officials and attendants within interiors, all on a pink wan ground decorated with floral blossoms, fu bats, butterflies and auspicious symbols, the rim depicting floral blossoms to the interior and dragons chasing a flaming pearl to the exterior, the neck set with stylized faux-bois beast form handles.
Height 25 3/8 inches.
