A Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Scholar's Vase
REPUBLIC PERIOD OR EARLIER
of meiping form, one side molded in the form a book with an inscription of the short story 'Li the Banished Immortal' Writes in Drunkenness to Impress the Barbarians from the Chinese classic Stories to Caution the World within gilt and red borders, the vase decorated with lotus scrolls, shou character, lingzhi and lappets on a gilt ground, bearing a six-character Qianlong mark in iron red on a turquoise ground.
Height 5 5/8 inches.
