A George III Silver Soup Tureen, Cover and Later Stand Maker's Mark I Pellet P in Oval possibly for John Plimmer of bombe oval form, with gadrooned rim, raised on four leaf-capped scroll supports headed by acanthus and with leaf-capped bifurcated reeded scroll handles, engraved with later arms on one side, the stepped domed cover crested on both sides, urn finial centered by radiating acanthus leaves, the oval stand with gadrooned rim and shell handles, raised on four flattened ball feet, engraved with matching arms. marked on underside and cover, stand with maker's mark for Creswick & Co., with Sheffield rose mark and stamped STERLING only 175 ozt 3 dwt Length of stand over handles 20 inches.
