An Embroidered Silk Panel
LIKELY 19TH CENTURY
of long rectangular form, worked in multicolored satin stitches to depict a central scene showing pagodas, blooming peach branches issuing from rockery and Buddhist emblems all emerging from lishui stripes, enclosed by flying cranes and ruyi-head clouds, having two deer to each end, one depicted standing under flowering trees with a bat above, the other in grass ground, all reserved on a navy blue ground.
Height 19 3/4 inches x 101 3/4 inches.
