Lot Description

A Blue and White Porcelain Bowl and Cover LIKELY DAOGUANG PERIOD of rectangular form with indented edges and corners, the exterior decorated with figures and horses under pine trees issuing from rockery in a landscape scene, the shoulders flanked by two elephant head-form handles, the interior with swimming carps amongst seaweed decoration, the cover painted to depict a male figure training a horse within an outdoor scene, signed Kong Zhang, having a lotus bud shaped finial, bearing a four-character Daoguang mark in underglaze blue to the underside. Height 6 1/2 x width 10 1/2 x depth 7 3/8 inches
