A Blue and White Porcelain Bowl and Cover
LIKELY DAOGUANG PERIOD
of quatrefoil form, the body painted to the exterior with a continuous landscape scene with equestrian figures, willow trees and rockery, each side having a double elephant head-form handles, the interior with carps swimming amongst seaweeds, the cover decorated with a scholar and a recumbent horse under pine trees within a mountain setting, having a signature Kong Zhang, a finial in the form of a lotus bud, bearing a four-character Daoguang mark to the underside.
