A Carved Pale Celadon Jade Plaque of shaped rectangular form, the upper register carved with stylized kuilong, one side carved in low relief depicting a child riding on the back of a qilin bearing lotus leaves and surrounded by clouds, the reverse with bats and an inscription reading qilin songzi ("qilin brings you a distinguished son"). Height 1 7/8 inches.
