Lot Description

A Large Cloisonne Enamel and Bronze Tripod Censor LIKELY 20TH CENTURY the bulbous body flanked by a pair of lion-mask and loose-ring handles, decorated with two shaped reserves, one enclosing chrysanthemum and bamboo emerging from rockery, the other flowering prunus branches and narcissus, all against a diaper and turquoise ground, further set on a yellow floral ground, raised on three curved paw shaped feet issuing from three applied lion masks, the base chased with a four-character Qianlong mark within a roundel, the cover having similar floral decoration with openworked panels showing lotus scrolls, surmounted by a large knot finial pierced with a sinuous five-clawed dragon pursuing the flaming pearl amongst clouds, set atop a double lotus base. Height 24 1/4 inches.
