A Japanese Ivory Handled Walking Stick, late 19th century, having a carved handle depicting a happy face on one side and a sad face on the other, each side having red coral inlaid eyes, the top of the handle having a scrimshawed insect with black coral inlay, indicating a signature, having a hammered gold-filled collar with an ebony shaft ending in an ivory tip. Diameter of handle 1 1/2 x length overall 36 3/8 inches.
