Lot Description
A Silver Tankard, Abraham Cuyler (1713-1749), Active 1735-1749, Albany, NY, Circa 1740
With tapered cylindrical body having molded foot, the hinged, domed and stepped lid with engraved and cutwork front and spiral thumb-rest, with scrolled handle with applied and lapped decorative elements at top and plain disc terminal to bottom, also engraved with monogram, "A/ IE," the top of lid engraved "HTE," with later spout, the underside later engraved, "Jacob H. Ten Eyck & Annetje Wendell/ Married 1737/ Harmanus Ten Eyck & Margaret Bleecker/ Married 1776/ Jacob H. Ten Eyck/ 1781-1872/ William M. Burr & Emily K. Wilkinson/ Married 1853/ Jacob H. Ten Eyck Burr/ 1856-1927/ Catherine Ten Eyck Ledyard/ 1859-1934/ Margaret B. McDaniel/ 1871," marked twice to upper edge near handle.
