An Assembled Dressing Set for Emily Warren Roebling (1843-1903) and Mary Gindhart Roebling (1905-1994), Gorham Mfg. Co., Providence, RI, and Other Makers, Circa 1880s and 1930s
Comprising nine items made for Emily Warren Roebling by Gorham Mfg. Co., including two hand mirrors, one engraved, "E.W.R./ Oct. 10th," marked; two compacts, a powder box, and two small trays, all with gilt wash and engraved with stylized monogram, "EWR," marked; a scraper, engraved with monogram, "EWR," and date, "March 14, '93," marked; and a bookmark, engraved with monogram, "EWR," marked; and six items made for Mary Gindhart Roebling, by a few makers, including a hand mirror, a comb, a brush, and a shoe horn, by H.R. Morss & Co., Inc., Attleboro, MA, a brush by R. Blackinton & Co., Attleboro, MA, and a cut glass powder box with sterling silver lid, by R. Wallace & Sons, Mfg. Co., Wallingford, CT, all engraved with monogram, "MGR," most marked. (15 items total).
