Lot Description

A group of seven Chinese Export porcelain tablewares from the "Newton Service," made for the English Market, circa 1740-1750

All bearing armorial crest in the form of a crossed bones motif surmounted by kneeling crowned man holding sword, and decorated with enamel and gilt floral and fruit sprays, comprising a large cann, a large plate, three small plates, and two soup bowls, the undersides bearing accession numbers 79.500.10-1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7, as well as labels with old Winfield Foundation accession numbers.
