Lot Description
A collection of twelve English soft-paste porcelain leaf and floral-form plates, Chelsea, Worcester, Derby, and other, circa 1755-1770
Comprising a pair of oblong leaf-form dishes by Chelsea, bearing the red anchor mark to the undersides, circa 1755-1760; an oval dish decorated with floral sprays by Chelsea, bearing the red anchor mark to the underside, circa 1760; a pair of floral-form dishes with branch-form handle by Chelsea, bearing the red anchor mark to the underside and an old collection label for Mrs. Greer of Middleburg; three similar floral-form dishes, apparently unmarked but two bearing the same collection label for Mrs. Greer of Middleburg; a pair of leaf-form oval dishes decorated with insects, possibly Derby, apparently unmarked; and a pair of leaf-form dishes decorated with floral sprays, by Worcester, Dr. Wall, First Period, circa 1770, unmarked; sold together with a pair of majolica reticulated plates decorated with flowers and leaves by Schramberg, one impressed, "Schramberg/ 7" to the underside, the other impressed "7." (14 plates total).
