A collection of seven English and French portraits, 18th century
Comprising a reverse glass-painted portrait of a lady, the verso retaining old label for "T.W. Stephens/ Carver, Gilder, Picture Frame, & Window Blind Manufacturer"; a "dressed" mezzotint engraving depicting "L'Hyver," worked with silk fabric remnants; a mezzotint engraving depicting "Prudence"; a mezzotint engraving of "The Right Honble Elizabeth Countess of Northumberland," after Peter Lely (English, 1618-1680), engraved by Isaac Beckett (English, 1653-1719); a mezzotint engraving of "The Lady Price," after Peter Lely (English, 1618-1680); a mezzotint engraving of "Sr. Watkin Williams Wynn Bart.", after Thomas Hudson (English, 1701-1779), engraved by John Faber the Younger (Dutch-English, 1684-1756); and a stipple engraved portrait of Archibald Campbell (1607-1661), with old labels identifying sitter verso; all items framed, some retaining period frames.
