The Frank Holton Company, founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1898, was the oldest continually operating manufacturer of wind instruments in the United States. Holton relocated his firm to Elkhorn, Wisconsin in 1917 after successfully expanding production to include brasswind and percussion instruments. The company was bought out by a subsidiary of Steinway Musical Instruments in 1964.
