The United States Federal Census return of 1920 lists an Arkless Daniel Weiss (1871-1942) working as a tinner at a wholesale tin shop in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. According to his obituary, Weiss was active in numerous fraternal organizations and was an accomplished fisherman and hunter. After working for many years as tinner and retail dealer within the stove industry, Weiss parlayed his passion for the outdoors into a successful venture as a city sporting goods store owner later in life.
