A Pair of Italian Bronze Bas Relief Plaques, Probably 17th / 18th Century
Each depicting Classical figures symbolizing War and Peace, surrounded by groups of armor and putti, the upper edge flanked by winged lions representing St. Mark the Evangelist and the city of Venice, each holding bibles inscribed, PAX TIBI MARCE EVANGELISTA MEVS, the plaques presented on custom velvet and embossed leather mount, the verso marked, “C. Glingler Roma," with the House of Savoy crest.
