Lot Description
[KING, Martin Luther, Jr.] Investigation of the Assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. 1978-1979.
Investigation of the Assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. Washington: Government Printing Office, 1978-1979. 13 volumes, 8vo. Photographic plates and diagrams. Publisher's original wrappers (mild edge wear, few wrappers lightly soiled, Vol. V with few small holes on back wrapper).
FIRST EDITION of the official report issued by the United States House Select Committee on Assassinations in 1978 regarding the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., in 1968. The Committee was established in 1976 to investigate the assassinations of both Dr. King and President Kennedy. The Committee concluded that while "there is a likelihood" that his death was the result of a conspiracy, it was only between James Earl Ray and his brothers and did not involve any United States government agency.
