Lot Description

[WESTERN AMERICANA]. A group of 17 RPPCs of the Mexican Revolution, incl. Pancho Villa.


The lot includes the following: 17 real photo postcards, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 in., or smaller, most unused, documenting events and individuals associated with the Mexican Revolution. Many of the scenes are identified in the negative. 

Highlighted titles/scenes include: "American Insurrectos, taking first Federal Stronghold, Juarez, Mex." -- General Pancho Villa and Mrs. Villa, copyrighted 1914 by W.H. Horne Co. -- Generals Toribio Ortega, Pancho Villa, and Medina, by W.H. Horne Co. -- Generals Fierro, Villa, Ortega, and Median, by W.H. Horne & Co. -- "Lieut. Col. Alvarez, Manuel Torres, Bandits captured after Raid on Glenn Springs, Tex.," by W.H. Horne & Co. -- Female revolutionist. -- "Roulette at Monte Carlo, Juarez, Mex. -- Mexican Revolutionists. -- Artillery of Mexican Army. -- "Body of Col. Enrique Portilla Executed in Juarez, Mex., Nov. 15-13," by W.H. Horne Co. -- "Triple Execution in Mexico," and Bodies of 3 men lying as they fell after being Executed," each by W.H. The Bandit, Maximo Castillo, is blamed for the Disaster."

Together, 17 real photo postcards. Condition generally good to very good. Some with edge and corner wear, and toning.
