Lot Description

[FLAGS]. Two American parade flags, incl. 25-star and Bennington "76" flags.

2 printed, cotton parade flags, including the following examples:

3 1/2 x 5 3/4 in. flag with 25 stars organized in the shape of one large star at the center of the canton. The flag commemorates Arkansas' statehood, which occurred 15 June 1836. Based on construction, this parade flag was likely produced during the second half of the 20th century or later. -- 3 3/4 x 5 3/8 in. Bennington Flag featuring the number “76” on the canton, surrounded by 13 white stars. The original Bennington Flag was believed to be the first Stars and Stripes used by American land troops and was flown over the military stores in Bennington on 16 August 1777 when General John Stark’s militia led the Americans to victory over the British raiding force. This is a commemorative example possibly made for the bicentennial celebration in the 20th century.

This lot is located in Cincinnati.
