A depiction of the tunnel near La Salle, IL, is prominently featured at center, with small vignettes below depicting the "restful reclining chair cars," the "splendid dining car service," and a map of the railway's route.
Framed, 24 3/4 x 15 3/4 in. overall.

Established in 1847, the company acquired additional railway lines over the following years, changing names several times until 1880, when it officially became the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway.
