Lot comprised of more than 75 buttons ranging in size from approx. 1/2 in. to 1 in. diameter, including dug examples, many dating from the 19th century. Manufacturers include Horstmann Bros., Waterbury Button Co., and Scovill Mfg. Co.

Highlights include buttons with seals of various US states, including Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, and Indiana, along with a Civil War-era Michigan Staff button. Also included is a Riker mount containing 4 buttons, with consignor's label on bottom tentatively identifying the buttons as "CSA Chancellorsville militia buttons," although this cannot be confirmed with all certainty.
