Lot Description

[MILITARIA]. 7 belt plates, incl. dug examples.


1) A Dug US Cartridge Box Plate with "Emits/Burg Rd" marked on the back suggesting the location of the recovery. Both iron wire loops are missing from the back.

2) A Dug US Eagle Breast Plate marked "Fredericksburg" on the back, suggesting the location of the recovery. Both iron wire loops are missing from the back.

3) A Dug US 1851 cast brass Eagle sword belt plate in a Riker mount with a note indicating it was dug at Vicksburg. Back of plate marked "VICKSBURG" as well.

4) A Dug Eagle tongue from a two-piece US belt plate.

5) A post Civil-War 1874 Pattern non-dug cast brass Eagle sword belt plate, probably first half of the 20th century.

6) A reproduction two-piece cast brass belt plate marked "WA" on the face of the tongue for Washington Artillery.

7) Gilt stamped brass, lead filled arrow hook US oval belt plate.
