The newspaper's front page contains a prominent, 16 x 11 in. illustrated political ad headlined: “Huzza, for the Massachusetts ! / Jolly Tars of Massachusetts" / Massachusetts Ticket to be voted for on Monday next…” The political cartoon, which measures approx. 6 x 6 in., features a War of 1812 ship carrying 8 pennants and banners with text reflecting many War of 1812 slogans such as: “We Will Not Give Up the Ship”; “The Federal Navy and Free Trade”; “Sailors’, Merchants, and Mechanics’ Rights.”
