Provenance: Frank Dobbin, American book collector (ownership signature dated 1915); Edward Baker (booksellers' ticket).

FIRST EDITION of the collected botanical papers of Spruce, who was the first professional botanist to explore South America, virtually opening the Amazon to scientific study.
