two marked T & V / Limoges / France to underside.

The consignor relates that Traynor served as the in-house barber at the Bayshore Hotel, also known as the 'Bucket of Blood Hotel,' on Lower Broad Street in Keyport, New Jersey. Vollmer (1833-1909) purportedly worked at a less macabre establishment in Port Jervis, New Jersey. Census returns indicate that in addition to barbering, Vollmer also worked for a time as a cobbler.
