U.S. City Directories for Akron, Ohio record that artist Edward L. Ott lived at 442 Brown Street with his wife, Anna, as early as 1902. The residence was less than one mile from the site of the U.S. Stoneware Co.'s offices and the first factory site on Annadale Avenue.
A larger, later work by the same artist was sold by Hindman Auctions on March 15, 2023, Sale 1314, Lot 146.
