Herculaneum Pottery, England, Early 19th Century
one side with Washington raised from his tomb by winged figures of Immortality and Father Time, with allegories of Faith, Hope, and Charity at left and an allegorical figure of Liberty and a Native American representing the Western Hemisphere seated below, after a print by John James Barralet (Irish, circa 1747-1815); the opposite with three-masted sailing ship flying a fifteen-star American flag.
with Seal of the United States transfer beneath the spout.
