John Evans & Co. abandoned a project to print a two-volume edition of Biographia Literaria and Sibylline Leaves in 1815. Fenner acquired the sheets, printed preliminaries, and issued this work in 1817; thus, "Vol. II" appears on several leaves throughout the text.
