This collection of novellas contains the title novella, the basis of the 1994 film starring Brad Pitt and Anthony Hopkins, directed by Edward Zwick (it won the Academy Award for Cinematography). Another novella in this book, Revenge, is the basis of the 1990 film starring Kevin Costner and Madeleine Stowe, directed by Tony Scott.
