KING, Stephen ("Richard Bachman") (b. 1947). The Regulators. New York: Dutton, 1996.

8vo. Original cloth; dust jacket.

FIRST EDITION. SIGNED BY KING. The Regulators was the first novel published under the Richard Bachman pseudonym after King's alter ego was publicly outed by a bookstore clerk in 1985. Written as a "mirror novel" to Desperation, both works feature many characters and situations in common.

[With]: KING. Desperation. New York: Viking, 1996. 8vo. Original cloth; dust jacket. FIRST EDITION. SIGNED BY KING. The idea for Desperation came from a road trip in which King stopped in a deserted Nevada town and found himself wondering what happened to its residents. It was later adapted into a 2006 television film starring Ron Perlman.
