**Smith & Wesson Victory Revolver
World War II
.38 Special. 4" barrel length. SN: V618389. Parkerized metal refinish overall mounting color case hardened hammer, trigger, and lanyard loop, and smooth walnut grips. Double action six-shot hand ejector revolver featuring topstrap notch and front half-moon blade sights. Item features a pinned barrel on a five screw frame with the rough finish typical of Smith & Wesson Victory revolvers. Serial numbers match on the butt, barrel, cylinder, and star extractor. Right grip panel serial number does not match and reads 638524. Further marks include P proof marking to the upper left frame and to the barrel after the serial number. Topstrap is struck with the property marking reading {Ordnance Bomb} U.S. PROPERTY G.H.D., the initials standing for Colonel Guy. H. Drewry. Left barrel is struck SMITH & WESSON with the right marked 38 S.&W. SPECIAL CTG. Right frame marked MADE IN U.S.A. with sideplate showing Smith & Wesson monogram trade mark. Top of the barrel exhibits the standard two-line address and patent reading SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A./PATENTED FEB. 06. 06. SEPT. 14. 09. DEC. 29. 14.
