Bolt-action repeating rifle fed by 10-shot semi-detachable magazines. Item mounts a rear aperture sight graduated up to 800 meters paired with a partially hooded front blade. Barrel features the lightening cuts typical of the No. 5 rifle, as does the action body. Item features a sling loop to the right side of the buttplate and a further loop on the barrel band. Markings on the left action body are shallow due to refinishing and read NO 5 MK I ROF/1/46. Standard British {Broad Arrow} markings appear on the rear of the action body, to the barrel, bolt, and assorted other components. Bolt handle, stock, action body, and socket show matching serial numbers, but the magazine does not match. Flash eliminator is retained by two pins visible above the barrel with a second variation rear sight. Stock appears to have been varnished and refinished, while metalwork displays weak markings indicative of refinish at some point.
