German Velo Dog Revolver by L Dieter of Munich
.320 CF. 2" octagonal barrel. SN: 15. Blued metal finish with straw colored small parts mounting checkered black synthetic grips. Double action folding trigger exposed hammer Velo-Dog revolver with octagonal barrel mounting half moon front blade and topstrap notch rear sights. Left barrel struck with 320 caliber marking with German proofs to frame. Topstrap is struck L. DIETER/MUNCHEN. Revolver mounts a hand operated ejector rod, and a safety lever to the left frame.
L. Dieter was listed as a "Hofbuchsenmacher" (gun maker to the court) in Munchen (Munich), circa 1880 (Stockel Vol. 1). Dieter's signature appears on a variety of firearms including sporting shotguns, and defensive arms such as this one.
