Lot Description
**Smith & Wesson DA .45 Hand Ejector Model 1917
.45 ACP. 5.5" barrel length. SN: 113915. Blued metal finish with case colored hammer and trigger mounting smooth walnut grip panels and lanyard loop to butt. Double action six-shot hand ejector revolver featuring a pinned barrel on five screw frame. Sights consist of standard topstrap notch and half-moon front blade sights. Item displays various government service and inspection markings including U.S./ARMY/MODEL/1917 on the butt, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" below the barrel, and the {Ordnance Bomb} on the left frame forward of the hammer. Left frame struck {Eaglehead/S21} above the triggerguard with {Eaglehead/S24} stamp to the rear cylinder and a further {Eaglehead} on the barrel near serial number. Left barrel marked S.&W. D.A. 45 with two-line address and patent marks to the top of the barrel reading SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A./PATENTED DEC. 17. 1901. FEB. 6. 1906. SEP. 14. 1909. Sideplate shows no Smith & Wesson monogram marking. Serial numbers match on the frame, cylinder, barrel, and extractor. Serial number written in pencil on the inside of the right grip panel.
