**U.S. Property Marked Remington Model 11
World War II
12 Gauge. 20" barrel length. SN: 498894. 2.75" chamber length. Cylinder Choke. Blued metal finish with polished bolt mounting smooth walnut semi-pistol grip stock with smooth forend. Long-recoil operated semi automatic shotgun fed by an internal tube magazine mounting brass bead front sight and a matted receiver top. Item shows standard markings including THE/SPORTSMAN to the bolt, two-line address to barrel, and CYL choke marking. Left receiver and the top of the barrel both marked U.S. followed by the {Ordnance Bomb} with receiver additionally marked MILITARY FINISH. Stock mounts a Remington marked synthetic buttplate, and features the {Crossed Cannons} ordnance mark followed by the FJA initials of Frank J. Atwood, the correct marking encountered on Remington Model 11 shotguns purchased by the military. Shotgun serial number falls within the known range for models acquired by the US government with the correct marks appearing overall.
