Left receiver and the top of the barrel both marked U.S. followed by the {Ordnance Bomb} with receiver additionally marked MILITARY FINISH. Stock mounts a Remington marked synthetic buttplate, and features the {Crossed Cannons} ordnance mark followed by the FJA initials of Frank J. Atwood, the correct marking encountered on Remington Model 11 shotguns purchased by the military. Shotgun serial number falls within the known range for models acquired by the US government with the correct marks appearing overall.
